About Creator Tool Lab

Creator Tool Lab is a small set of calculators for people who record, edit and upload video. It exists because the same handful of conversions (bitrate to file size, file size to upload time, disk space to recording time) come up constantly and are easy to get wrong when bits, bytes, decimal and binary units are mixed together.

How it works

The site is static. Every calculation is plain arithmetic that runs in your browser, with the formula and a worked example on each page. There are no accounts, no databases and no AI services involved.

What to keep in mind

• Results are estimates based on constant bitrates and ideal conditions.
• Container overhead, variable bitrate and real network conditions will move the real numbers.
• The tools are not a substitute for testing with your own encoder, camera and connection.

If you find an error in a formula or an explanation, that is a bug worth fixing, and corrections are welcome wherever the project's source is hosted.
